The 'Stealth Cottage' is a completely remodeled historic 99 year old cottage just across Paw Paw Lake Road from beautiful Paw Paw Lake. We have 115 feet of lake frontage right across the street. We are located on what we call 'the Westlund Ponderosa'. It is our family's complex of two cottages, one lake house all on 2 full acres of beautiful wooded property. We have just finished our eighth summer renting 'the Stealth Cottage'. New for 2019 is a oak floor in the living room and new ceramic floors in the entry, kitchen, hall, and bathroom. The cottage sports 3 bedrooms with a loft. The master bedroom has a king size bed with a large dresser and flat screen TV. It has a bath with a corner shower. The washer & dryer are in this bathroom in a closet. The second bedroom has a queen size bed. The third bedroom is a walk through room to the master bedroom and has a Queen size bed. If you want privacy in that room the master bedroom has a door leading out to the patio. The loft is entered up a ships ladder and has 4 twin beds and a double bed. Not much headroom but a great place to crash out. We do not recommend the loft for infants and toddlers! But for school age kids to active adults it is fine. We sleep a total of 12 in beds. The living room has two couches. It has a round table perfect for poker with a leaf to seat 6 for dinner. We also have a 50" flat screen HDTV with full basic cable. Also included is a nice stereo w/ dvd/cd player, and a input for your ipod or personal music player. We have speakers both inside and out on the deck. The kitchen is fully equipped with a new ge microwave, whirlpool self cleaning oven, dishwasher, and fridge with a ice maker. We have settings for 24 and include a mixer, blender, electric griddle, two cast iron griddles, pizza pans, and plenty of pots and pans. We also have a table with 4 chairs in the kitchen. Next to the kitchen is our favorite room in the house. It is called the 'MOAB' which stands for 'The Mother of all Bars'. It is a fully equipped dry bar with a under counter beer & wine fridge and a wine rack for your local purchases. It has a handmade bar and a round bar table with bar stools. Outside we have a 14' x 24' wood deck with 2 tables and comfy chairs. Down two steps is a 14'x16' patio with a picnic table, another glass table with umbrella and a stainless steel natural gas grill with a side burner and side table. We have a outdoor fireplace for your use with an initial supply of firewood. Additional firewood can be purchased for $5 per large rack. Head down to the lake and you will find your own slip with outer pipes jetted in for a 6 way tie up so your boat will not hit the pier when it gets choppy. We can handle up to a 30' boat. We have added second pier for fishing and swimming off of. I has a 16'x16' platform at the end. For your use we have a paddle boat, a row boat, and three kayaks. Also down at the lake is 'The Rocking Chair Lounge'. It is a small bar with a tilt up metal roof for security. It has a granite counter top and a raised 12'x8' platform with four southern rocking chairs. It has a small fridge and a stereo with 6 speakers and two subwoofers so you can hear it clearly when you swim off the pier. Next to the 'RCL' is a large concrete patio with a table and three benches for gazing out on the lake. Outside we offer a regulation grass volleyball court with a line set and three sets of bean bag boards with plenty of bags (cornhole), and other yard games. This barndominium is located on 30 private acres of field and forest in beautiful southwest Michigan! The vacation rental consists of the entire second floor of the barndominium, with the first floor just used for storage of the property owner's equipment. There is also a third floor loft that provides additional sleeping space. The barndominium was just recently built after the current owners bought the property, demolished the older existing home that was on the property, and built new. This vacation rental consists of 2 gorgeous bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a lovely open space kitchen, living room, and dining area, a laundry room (with washer and dryer), and a third floor loft. The kitchen has all modern stainless steel appliances including a refrigerator, electric range (stovetop and oven), dishwasher, and microwave oven. The barndominium has a forced-air propane furnace for heat, air conditioning for cooling in the summer, and it has both satellite WiFi and satellite television. There is also a fun foosball table next to the living room. The vacation rental sleeps 4 in bedrooms (one bedroom has a queen-size bed and the other has a full-size bed). There is also a single bed in the third-floor loft as well as a air mattress that sleeps 1 person. Thus, in total the barndominium sleeps 6 adults comfortably (and we do limit the capacity to 6 people). Sitting on 30 private acres of countryside and forest, there are a fun collection of trails on the property that are available for hiking, riding on ATVs, snowmobiling, or cross-country skiing. Please note that use of the property owners' equipment is prohibited and, if using your own ATVs and/or snowmobiles on the trails, we do require guests to sign a liability waiver. There is also a great customized bonfire ring on the property with adirondack chairs provided. The cottage is located outside of the cute little town on Coloma, Michigan, which has a charming little small-town downtown area with shops, restaurants, bars, and a historic movie theater, The Loma Theatre. A large, historic, and very popular inland lake, Paw Paw Lake, is also in Coloma and is just 3 miles from this vacation home! This vacation home is in Berrien County in the extreme southwest corner of Michigan. The barndominium is also perfectly situated to explore southwest Michigan in that it is just a 21-minute drive from the vacation rental to downtown Saint Joseph, Michigan, which features a lovely historic downtown with many fine shops, cafes, and restaurants as well as nationally famous Silver Beach on Lake Michigan, which is rated as one of the top family beaches in the USA. The Saint Joseph River, the second largest river in Michigan, flows right next to Saint Joseph as well before it empties into Lake Michigan. While Saint Joseph is to the southwest of this vacation rental home, to the northwest is another regional treasure, the hip and fun beach town of South Haven, Michigan. Downtown South Haven is also just a 21-minute drive from the vacation property. Whereas Saint Joseph is a little more historic and family-family, South Haven is a bit more trendy, hip, and "beach party oriented". It has a large collection of cool and hip shops, restaurants, bars, and night clubs in its beautiful downtown area where the Black River empties into Lake Michigan. South Haven also features North Beach on Lake Michigan just north of the river as well as South Beach on Lake Michigan just south of the river. Come enjoy Southwest Michigan's awesome beaches many within 12 minutes of a drive. The two main beaches are Silver Beach which is located in St.Joseph and South Beach which is located in South Haven, with many others surrounding the area. Our home is nestled in a quiet setting. Luxury 2 Bedroom a master suite, and (2nd is a open concept room) sleeps 3 with additional space for air mattresses. The East wing has 5 more bedrooms and sleeping areas, along with 3 more bathrooms. Enjoy your own private deck above the pool area. Very private property with plenty of space for the kids to run around. The rental also has a pool table, ping pong, along with basketball hoops. Laundry facilities on site. Pet's under 50 pounds welcome with additional security deposit. There are 2 separate living quarters. Our guests rent the West Wing described above. The East Wing is a totally separate entrance. We occasionally live in a mother in law suite in the Far East side of the property. We usually live on our boat during the summer weekends. We do come home to verify the proper amount of guests checking in, just to be sure it matches the paid amount. Since the property is approximately 14,000 square feet, we supply cameras throughout the property, so you can monitor your rented areas from your own 36 inch TV. (Some squares are black where there use to be interior cameras.) This is so you always know where your friends and family are. Be sure to monitor your guests while they are swimming. No Lifeguard EVER on duty. VRBO does not allow cameras inside living space. Also, enjoy all your favorite sporting events on a number of different television sets up to 80 inches, even by the pool.
